Lau Center for Judaism

What's new?

The Vision

The Lau Center for Judaism was founded under the leadership and inspiration of Rabbi David Lau, who served for a decade as Chief Rabbi of Israel and head of the rabbinical courts, with a vision of genuine connection among all parts of the Jewish people.
The center continues Rabbi Lau’s work by training the next generation of Israeli rabbinic leadership, with an emphasis on listening and connecting with every part of society.
It also operates a rabbinical arbitration and mediation institute, makes Jewish content accessible, publishes books, and assists families in need and bereaved families.
The Lau Center bridges Jewish tradition and today’s challenges through kindness and peace.
It aspires to unite all parts of the Jewish people and model attentive, relevant rabbinic leadership.

Lau Center - The gateway to Jewish values

The Lau Center’s new building, now under construction at the entrance to Jerusalem, will be a home for Torah, leadership, Jewish identity, and human connection. It will continue the tradition of the Chief Rabbi’s office, which for decades served thousands of people from Israel and around the world seeking advice, guidance, inspiration, and a connection to Jewish tradition.

Inspired by the Lau family’s tradition of welcoming every person, the center will open its doors to religious and secular visitors, Jews and non-Jews, individuals and groups, Israelis and guests from around the world.

A Jewish experience tailored to every visitor

The Lau Center will be far more than a building. It will be an essential destination for anyone who wants to discover the story of Israel and the world of Judaism.

On their way to Jerusalem’s major landmarks, visitors will be able to stop at the center for a personal journey tailored to their language, age, interests, and background through advanced technology and interactive experiences.

In this way, the Lau Center will become a gateway to Jerusalem—a place where a personal connection to the Jewish people, their heritage, and their future begins.
